Gryphon have made it very difficult to perform firmware upgrades. The dedicated sub out is very useful to as I also have an Audio Physic Rhea 2 for deep bass duty. So I would have no hesitation in recommending this amplifier to anyone who appreciates good sound and wants an integrated DAC. It didn't really take that long for the amplifier or DAC to reach stable operational performance either. The Mojo's like volume and control but I'm often astonished by how good the system sounds at low volume. I used to feed it through the USB input but found I preferred AES from the Bridge and I'm quite happy with 24/96 or 24/192. Fed with a good quality signal (I'm using a DCS Network Bridge) every little detail is laid bare. I'm sure owners will no doubt concur with this. All the hi-fi stuff is there - detail, soundstage, 3D imaging and speed but it also just gets out of the way of the music. So I breathed in and took the plunge.įrom the point of view of sound qualityt it's by far the best integrated I've owned. I wanted the DAC too after having heard the Scorpio CD player in anticipation of a good chunk of Calliope performance. I also have the older Mojo loudspeakers so the Diablo looked like the perfect match. I bought the Diablo 300 with the DAC module in 2016 after an audition of several heavyweight integrateds as I already knew about Gryphon and their reputation having heard Cantatas a long time ago. I wanted to summarise 5 1/2 years of ownership and describe some of the frustrations as well as the very good.
